I wrote a pattern for a sock monkey sized pom pom hat and matching scarf :)

Sock Monkey Pom Pom Hat:

Hook: G (4.25MM)

Yarn Size: Worsted (shown: Red Heart Super Saver in gray)
Finishes measurements: (unstretched) 3 1/4" tall, 8 1/2" circumference
bpdc= back post double crochet
fpdc= front post double crochet

Round 1: (use magic ring method) Ch 4, 12 dc in 1st ch, pull tight and sl st to last ch st on starting chains
Round 2: (back loops only) Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each st around, sl st to 3rd ch
Round 3: (back loops only) Ch 3, dc in same st, *dc in next 5 sts, 2 dc in next st* (repeat around), 1 dc in last st, sl st to 3rd ch

How to make a pom pom
The pom pom template I used was 1 1/4" diameter, with a 7/8" middle hole.  I filled the middle hole completely to make a very full pom pom.

Finished measurements:

Ch 51
Row 1: Starting in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across (back loops only), ch 1, turn
Row 2: Sc in each st across (back loops only), ch 1, turn
Row 3-4: Repeat row 2
Tie off end and add tassels

Wine cork stamps

Super easy to make.  I'm using mine for Christmas wrapping paper and tags.  Just draw your design on, and carve it out with an x-acto knife.  Use with ink, paint, or even markers.

Sock Monkey

Meet Leroy...

I used 3 different socks for this one.  I made him a crocheted scarf and tattooed his name on his butt :)

Baby sock monkey

Z has lots of little socks that don't fit him anymore.  Some lost their partner, some have stains.  So I decided to make miniature sock monkeys out of them :) Here's the first little guy, and actually, the first sock monkey I've ever made.

Chocolate Orange Snaps

Recipe comes from weelicious.com: Link
I made a few of my own changes, to make them a little healthier.
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 Tsp baking powder
1/4 cup brown Sugar
3 T dark agave nectar
1/4 cup + 2 T butter/veg. oil spread
1/2 T blackstrap molasses
half a banana, mashed
2 tsp orange zest

- In a bowl, mix flour, salt, cocoa and baking powder.
- In 2nd bowl, mix the sugar, agave nectar, molasses, and butter until smooth.
- Add banana and orange zest to 2nd bowl
- Slowly mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients
- Roll dough until it is 1/4 inch thick and cut into shapes
- Bake on floured baking sheet for 10-12 min at 350 degrees

Big ol' Granny Square Blanket

Big ol' Granny Square Blanket:
(I used worsted weight yarns and an I hook/5.50 MM.  I changed colors by randomly tying on the new color)

Ch 4, join into a ring with a slip stitch.

Round 1: Ch 4, (3 dc into center of ring, ch 1) 3 times, 2 dc into center of ring, sl st in third chain st of beginning chain to join.

Round 2: Ch 3, work corner (dc2, ch1, dc3) into the same space, work remaining corners: *ch1, skip over the 3 dc from the previous round, (dc3, ch1, dc3) into the next space, repeat from * two more times, ch1, sl st to third chain of beginning chain to join.

Round 3: Slip stitch until you reach the ch1 stitch at a corner. Ch 3, work corner (dc2, ch1, dc3) into the same space, work remaining sides:* ch1, skip over the 3 dc from the previous round, dc3, ch1 into space, work corner (dc3, ch1, dc3), repeat from * two more times, ch1, sl st to third chain of beginning to join.
...Continue this pattern around until it's as big as you want it (remembering to slip stitch to the corner at the beginning of each round).

This blanket was made entirely from scrap yarns from other projects.  It's going to be one of Z's Christmas gifts.

ugh. my least favorite part is sewing all those yarn ends in...

Apple/oatmeal/peanut butter Sugar free cookies

I've been making Z a lot of toddler friendly/healthy "cookies" lately.  He loves them, and I love making them.  I'm going to have to make myself an apron soon with all this baking going on.

(makes 6-8 small cookies)
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup flour
pinch of salt
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup mashed apples (chop, boil until soft and then mash)
1/2 T blackstrap molasses
1 T creamy peanut butter
1 T vegetable oil

Mix dry ingredients in one bowl, and mix wet ingredients in another.  Add wet bowl to dry bowl.
Bake 12-15 min at 350 degrees.

Homemade wrapping paper

I hate all the waste caused by wrapping paper for the holidays.  I use either newspaper, or printed paper grocery bags (which can be recycled again!).  I've also discovered that you can spin paper into yarn, which I use in place of ribbons.  I started early this year...
Potato stamps!
yes, I'm aware this one looks like muddy bike tire tracks

Vegan Sugar Free Pumpkin Cookies

1/2 cup canned pumpkin
2 T agave nectar
1/4 cup vegetable oil
3 inches of a banana, mashed
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
pinch of salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp almond milk
1/2 T vanilla extract
enough oatmeal to thicken (a few tablespoons)

Combine pumpkin, agave nectar, vegetable oil, and banana. In a separate bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla.  Dissolve the baking soda with the milk and stir in. Add flour mixture to pumpkin mixture and mix well.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 13 min.

Great snack for toddlers, Z loved them :)
