Big ol' Granny Square Blanket

Big ol' Granny Square Blanket:
(I used worsted weight yarns and an I hook/5.50 MM.  I changed colors by randomly tying on the new color)

Ch 4, join into a ring with a slip stitch.

Round 1: Ch 4, (3 dc into center of ring, ch 1) 3 times, 2 dc into center of ring, sl st in third chain st of beginning chain to join.

Round 2: Ch 3, work corner (dc2, ch1, dc3) into the same space, work remaining corners: *ch1, skip over the 3 dc from the previous round, (dc3, ch1, dc3) into the next space, repeat from * two more times, ch1, sl st to third chain of beginning chain to join.

Round 3: Slip stitch until you reach the ch1 stitch at a corner. Ch 3, work corner (dc2, ch1, dc3) into the same space, work remaining sides:* ch1, skip over the 3 dc from the previous round, dc3, ch1 into space, work corner (dc3, ch1, dc3), repeat from * two more times, ch1, sl st to third chain of beginning to join.
...Continue this pattern around until it's as big as you want it (remembering to slip stitch to the corner at the beginning of each round).

This blanket was made entirely from scrap yarns from other projects.  It's going to be one of Z's Christmas gifts.

ugh. my least favorite part is sewing all those yarn ends in...
